Actors’ Workshop!

Course Description: It’s laughter, learning and limelight with the After School Drama Club’s The Actor’s Workshop! Through a fun series of theater games, acting exercises and scripted scene work, this introductory acting class teaches the fundamentals of the actor’s craft. Students explore the “three tools of the actor” – voice, body and imagination – as they learn how to create characters, interpret scripts and perform for an audience. The class teaches true theater skills such as stagecraft, emotionally truthful acting, and professional theater etiquette, while encouraging creativity and inspiring the imagination. The class culminates with a free workshop presentation of scenes and monologues for an invited audience.

Course Description: Confident speakers articulate themselves clearly. Learning how to express oneself in groups with skill and confidence has immeasurable benefits in school, family and life. The goal of our programs is to teach students how to speak confidently, write effectively and think critically in public setting to connect with their audience. Our programs enhance students’ writing, active listening, communication & critical thinking skills through various presentations, activities, games, and debates on thought provoking and interesting topics!!

The Art of Spring

Course Description: This class will be a multi-media art experience for your child. Students will create Spring themed art using clay, ceramics, glass, oil pastel, watercolors, paper and more. Some weeks activities will be based the works or style of a famous artist, other lessons will be focused on a country, and yet other class sessions students will create fun spring-themed art utilizing different art mediums. (Examples of art: Clay birdhouse, Japanese style cherry blossom brush painting, Van Gogh inspired clay sunflower, oil pastel and watercolor spring picture and more).

Course Description: A fun experience for all voices! All levels of singing experience welcomed. Come learn and have fun using your voice and singing with a group. Learn valuable sight singing and musician skills. We will do group activities to help us get to know each other and feel comfortable with singing with other people. We will be learning how to sing in Canon (Aka. Rounds), expand our use of Solfege, warm up our voices, and sing different fun repertoire. In our last class together, we will hold a mini concert for parents to see all the hard work the students have been doing! Let's work together to make some fabulous music!
